“Pavo”

Training engagement (low/medium/high):

One Year: I would say medium to high, he listens fairly well but still needs a lot of treats but I also don’t work with him a lot so its on both of us!

Three years: High, he is really liking scent work class and focusing.

Energy level (low/medium/high):

One Year: High when active, but is getting better at calm as matures can relax with other dogs

Three Years: High runs like a fool in the yard and had a personal best recently in fcat. Is doing much better being quiet in the crate. I have been feeding him in the crate and he did awesome at the show in Dayton

Biddability (low/medium/high):

One Year: Medium to high he is always happy to do things

Three Years: I would say medium to high.

Vocality (low/medium/high):

One Year: Was very low as a puppy but my dogs have taught him to bark more. He barks when excited and at creatures but no more than the other dogs

Three Years: Barks at dogs or livestock on the tv and creatures and birds outside but does not bark for no reason.

Prey drive (low/medium/high):

One Year: Low to med same as others barks at the birds squirrels raccoons deer but ignores the chickens outside the fence and loves the cat

Three Years: Medium loves to chase the lure but is good with cats and chihuahuas in the house. Mostly ignores chickens outside the fence.

Human social (reactive, aloof, neutral, social):

One Year: Very social loves everyone

Three Years: Very social loves everyone

Dog social: (reactive, aloof, neutral, social):

One Year: I am rather protective around other dogs but he seems totally fine got along with dogs in our classes and when out walking.

Three Years: I do not allow him to interact with other dogs but he is not reactive and the times he has been in close like at dog shows he is fine.

Environmental sensitivity - (scale of 1-10, 10 being very reactive/unable to redirect and 1 being sleeping and/or completely engaged and able to ignore the world):

One Year: I would say 6. He does not come when he is wound up barking at something without me getting his attention calling him is not enough (again my poor training) but then there are times where the other dogs are going bat shit crazy and he looks outside and then goes back to chewing on his toy or sitting on the couch!

Three Years: If he is barking at the deer/coon he will start to come to me but then runs back to the deer/coon so maybe a 3 for that but if someone comes over he is happy to visit but can settle down quickly so 8ish

Confidence level (scale of 1-10, 1 being afraid of the smallest change/shadow and 10 being completely unafraid in any scenario):

One Year: I would say 9 I can’t think of any situations so far where he has been afraid a few times he was hesitant about something but then was fine, like getting out of the crate from the car at a new place which could also be related to getting out of the crate and I have to lift him down.

Three Years: I would say 9. He will occasionally startle with an unexpected loud noise or if he bumps something that falls but he recovers almost immediately.

Velcro (scale 1-10, 1 being very independent and aloof and 10 being living in your skin at all times):

One Year: 5 meaning he is pretty “normal” he does like to be near me if I’m in the same room as long as nothing more exciting is going on but he does not seem to have any concerns about me leaving him. He is always with another dog so that helps.

Three Years: Probably a 5 he is fine if I’m not around but will sit with me on the couch. He will get up on the bed for a few minutes at night but sleeps on the floor.

Affectionate (scale 1-10, 1 being not ever seeking or giving affection/attention, 10 being the most affectionate dog ever):

One Year: Again I am giving him a 5 meaning he “normal”. He loves to greet me and he will check in periodically if I am sitting on the couch and give me kisses. If he is in the same room with me he is usually at my feet or beside me. He is very sweet, and as affectionate as my others. But he is not usually annoying or overwhelming with his affection. So I think 5 is perfect!

Three Years: 6-7. He is super sweet and loves to snuggle but can also stay outside or lay on the floor in a different room. Loves to greet people.

Problem solving skills/independent thinking: (scale 1-10, 1 being needs help with everything/can’t generalize, 10 being puzzle master):

One Year: Well he’s pretty damn good at getting 4 foot sticks thru a 12” doggie door so I’d say pretty high 8-9.

Three Years: 8 he can find a dropped treat anywhere. I don’t do a lot of puzzle games but he seems to pick up new things fast.

Off switch?

One Year: Pretty good occasionally he has to go in the crate to chill but that is very rare and usually due to utter chaos from the chihuahuas!

Three Years: He can mostly be calm unless as above there are deer/coons/big birds. He also hates thunder and barks at it. But when I can get him away from the stimulation he is able to calm down and be ok. Calming chews have helped a lot with the thunder.

Favorite activities:

One Year: Playing ball, getting treats, running and barking with his family, going to class or walking, and I’m sure swimming will be up there.

Three Years: Dock diving, scent work class, fast cat barking at the deer chewing on benebones

Personality quirks?

One Year: None that I can think of he is a pretty normal Icie based on my other 4. Except shoving his toys into my face or lap but other than occasionally painful or annoying its pretty sweet

Three Years: Pretty normal Icie except his high pitched bark haha

Pros?

One Year: He is very will adjusted and a very sweet boy. He is showing maturity in that he no longer chews things he shouldn’t and can be left loose in the house with no issues, he is settling into adult hood quite well. So far he is respectful of his elders and understands when they have had enough of him he is submissive but in correct way. He tries very hard to make them love him haha

Three Years: Very sweet and smart behaves well in public good with other pets

Cons?

One Year: His high pitched bark but it seems to have gotten better in the last few weeks! I’m still concerned about his front legs coming around for conformation but otherwise he is a sweet, smart loving boy and I love him very much.

Three Years: None

One Year: I think you did an amazing job raising this litter and they are both a reflection of the best of their parents

Three Years: He is a very sweet smart boy. And handsome!
